What is a Domain
Name?
A domain name is a unique address that identifies a computer or
network which is connected to the Internet. A direct connection
is not required to take advantage of having your own domain
name.
Why should you
register a domain name?
They are scarce. Internet domain names are a rapidly diminishing
commodity. They are allotted on a first-come, first-serve basis. There can only be one "yourdomain.com" on the Internet, so make
sure you register your organization quickly before it is too
late! The longer you wait, the less likely you will be able to
get your customize name.
They are
important. The Internet domain name has become a vital part
of corporate identity. In the 21st Century, your domain name
will be as important as your trademark and your presence in a
global marketplace.
They are
versatile. Any E-Mail addressed to you "yourname@yourdomain.com"
can be forwarded to your current E-mail address. We can also
redirect Web Traffic from "www.yourdomain.com" to your current IP
address.

If you are
remotely considering using the Internet and World Wide Web for
your business, we highly recommend that you register your domain
name as soon as possible (there is a current load of 17,000
registrations per day to InterNic) and growing. Once
registered, you will own the domain name and no one else in the
world will be able to use it. We will hold on to your domain
name records until you decide how to make the Internet work for
you. At that point, even if you don't use our business for your
Internet needs, you will still own your domain name and be able
to use it.
